A reforestation project that combines native tree planting with environmental education to protect water springs and strengthen ecosystems in La Tigra, San Carlos.

During October, November, and December 2020, several reforestation activities took place in the La Tigra area of San Carlos, resulting in the successful planting of 5,000 trees from 55 native species.

One of the restored properties borders the Children's Eternal Rainforest, while the other belongs to the ASADA La Lucha – La Vega, a local community water association. Both properties contain springs of significant ecological value.

The property belonging to the ASADA contains water intakes that supply more than 5,000 families, making the reforestation effort directly relevant to protecting this vital water resource.

During the activities, volunteers learned about forest species and wildlife and had the opportunity to observe snakes, frogs, birds, and mammals in their natural habitats.

This project was carried out as part of an environmental compensation initiative funded by a private company, with our organization responsible for its full implementation.
